The Education Cabinet Secretary in Kenya recently appointed Professor Henry Moses Thairu who sits on the ASBA Advisory Board to Head the Commission for University Education (CUE). CUE is the University Education Regulatory and Accreditation body in Kenya and it falls under the Ministry of Education.

ASBA FOUNDER AND CEO FEATURED IN SPORTBUSINESS INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE
ASBA founder and CEO, Dr. Mombi Thairu, was featured in the SportBusiness International Magazine, June 2014 issue. Dr. Thairu's article was on the current state of African sports management education and the sports industry. The June issue also covers Sports Management Masters Programs Global Rankings.
Dr. Mombi Thairu, CEO, ASBA presented on the current trends in the African sport industry at the World Association for Sport Management (WASM) Inaugural Conference held in Madrid, Spain on October 1-3, 2014. The Conference was hosted by Real Madrid Graduate School of Management.

ASBA CEO INVITED
TO SPEAK AT SETE CONFERENCE 2014 DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA
Dr. Mombi Thairu, CEO, ASBA was invited to speak at the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) Conference held in Durban, South Africa on October 28-30, 2014.
Dr. Mombi spoke on a panel discussion on BRICS and the African countries .

AFRICA LOST A LEGEND
On March 20th, 2015 the African continent lost one of our sports legends Dr. Steve 'Kalamazoo' Mokone. He passed away at the age of 82.
Dr. Mokone was the first black African to play professional football in Europe. After his professional football career was over, Dr. Mokone went back to school and graduated from Rutgers University with a PhD in Psychology.
